SAHARA EXPRESS (Itinerary of 3 days)
3; Days Trip from Marrakech –sahara – to Fes
Day 1 : Marrakech –Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Gorges :
In the morning departure crossing the High Atlas (2260 m.), high passage of Tizi n’ Tichka arriving in Telouet to visit the Kasbah Pacha Glaoui. Heading through the old caravan tracks, crossing the amazing Ounila Valley and its dozen of mountain Berber villages until we reach the UNESCO Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou – local Unesco Kasbah. It’s the largest Kasbah in Morocco we will enjoy lunch. Then we continue to Ouarzazate, the city is called as “the Hollywood of Africa” and we visit here local kasbah and movie studio.Then we drive along the “Road of the thousand Kasbahs”. Hence we stop at “Kalaat Mgouna”, famous for its roses and annual festival in May. ,. We continue our journey to Dades gorges, where our first day ends. Dades is a marvellous valley, cool and offering a series of Berber villages alongside the road and the aroma that comes from the Roses groves within the valley. Overnight in a hotel. Finally we stay in local hotel with dinner and breakfast.
Day 2 : Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Merzouga :
So after breakfast, we enjoy , driving through the Dades valley and we explore the amazing rock formation called “the Monkey toes”. Then we drive through Tinghir to explore the Todra valley and Todra Gorge. There where we’ll enjoy panoramic views. Then we continue our guided Morocco tour to Erfoud, called as capital of fossils in Morocco. Later on, we drive to Rissani where we take a Berber lunch before heading to the village of Merzouga. From here we prepare for camel ride into desert. In fact, our camel ride will take around 90 minutes and we will be guided by an experienced desert camel guide. Finally we will spend this night under traditional Berber nomad tent with Berber dinner.
Day 3 : Merzouga Desert – Midelt – Azrou – Fes :
Wake up early in the morning so as not to miss sunrise, enjoy camel trekking of the morning back to the hotel, breakfast and start the day towards Fes. Pass through Rissani, the valley of Ziz, and Ziz gorges. Have lunch in the middle Atlas mountains before we cross the wonderful forests of cedar, Azrou village and Ifran. The latter is nicknamed ‘little Switzerland’ and one of the cleanest towns in the world.
